DOD has long been a leader in recognizing the strengths and value that individuals with disabilities bring into the workforce and employs thousands of workers with disabilities. As Civilians in DOD, individuals with disabilities play an important role in the defense of our Nation and in helping support our men and women in the military. • Schedule A

    Schedule A

Schedule A is a special authority to hire eligible individuals with disabilities non-competitively for Federal positions. While eligibility may assist you with consideration for employment, it does not guarantee selection.

If you are eligible and qualified, you may apply to any vacancy announcement that indicates the position is open to “individuals with disabilities” under the Schedule A hiring authority. You must indicate that you are eligible to be considered under Schedule A in the eligibility questions of the application as well as attach your Schedule A letter (click here for a sample letter) to your application package. If deemed eligible and qualified for the position, your application will be referred to the hiring official for review.

For more information regarding eligibility, required documentation, and the application process, visit the USAJOBS Help Center regarding the employment of individuals with disabilities.
